How I Chose My Baby Registry Must-Haves

August 6th, 2020, I remember that day like it was yesterday. It was the day I found out I was pregnant with my first little blessing. Once the fact that I was having a baby sunk in, the realization that we were going to need a LOT of stuff hit me. That was around 10 weeks when I really started to feel pregnant (thank you morning sickness).

Fast forward to now, and here I am at 33 weeks with a healthy, active little boy feeling like I have (almost) everything I need. When I eventually started my registry, I tried to take the advice of others telling me that we won’t need about a ¼ of the items that I registered for, but who doesn’t love picking out cute baby things!? Especially when you aren’t the one buying them, hehe. But really, it totally takes longer than you think to weed out those baby registry must-haves from what you want vs what you need.

Baby Registry Research

Almost every day as I did my research (which Babylist makes SUPER EASY btw), I would go in and tweak my registry. For a first-time expectant mama, there are so many things that we don’t even think about that will be necessary once you bring baby home. Since joining the Baby Delight team I have learned so much about what types of gear will be the safest and most beneficial for my little guy. I cannot wait to put our award-winning bassinet to use along with many other best-sellers that I trust will help make life easier during those precious few months and beyond!

The Items That Were on the Top of My Registry List

Bassinet:

We have his crib all set up in his nursery, but I knew I wanted to room-share for the first few months to keep him close to us. As I mentioned above, I’m using the Baby Delight Beside Me Dreamer bassinet. Not only does it have incredible reviews, I know for a fact that it was designed by the most thorough and dedicated team. It will provide some peace of mind, not to mention making it easier to nurse throughout the night.

Stoller:

Since the baby is due in April, we will be itching to get outdoors for some sweet fresh air after being cooped up all winter, so a stroller was at the top of my list. We plan to get out and go with him as soon as we can to get him used to different environments as we’ll eventually want to travel with him! I decided on the Uppa Baby Mesa car seat & Vista Stroller since I felt it suited our lifestyle the best.

Carrier: I went with the Ergobaby Omni 360 for a structured carrier and the Lalabu Soothe Shirt for quick and easy hands-free support.

Bouncer: I of course will be using our #2 best-seller, the Alpine portable bouncer! This product is a no-brainer, and one of the easiest registry decisions you will make. It’s chic, lightweight, travel-friendly, and has incredible reviews. I cannot wait to get my hands on our new organic version that will be launching this Spring. The neutral oat color matches my nursery perfectly!

Highchair: There are tons of high chairs on the market but we personally wanted something that would easily fold up when not in use so we could maximize space in our home. I ended up choosing the Baby Jogger City Bistro Chair.

Baby Bloom's Newborn Essentials

Aside from must-have gear, I felt like I had a lot to learn about what newborn essentials we will need to have on hand right away. That is where the advice of our friends at Baby Bloom Newborn Care came in handy! Their list of newborn necessities was very eye-opening to me as I was so focused on all the cute things I wanted VS what I will really need once the baby is here. Thanks, Baby Bloom! With less than two months to go, I am much more confident in the items we will be bringing our baby home to.
